Her predicaments were often so funny to read about that I laughed out loud while reading along. She has a knack for getting herself into trouble and then charming her way back out of it. It is amusing to read about her adventures because sh e does such unexpected things Anne is quite unpredictable. She is vivid in every way, from her bright red hair to her overactive imagination. The heroine, Anne Shirley, is absolutely captivating. This, to me, is part of the book’s charm I love the story! I loved it as a child when I read it in the 1980’s and I still love it now. The language is a bit dated and some of the expressions are not what you’d hear these days. This classic was originally written in 1908, so the lifestyles of the characters in the book are quite different from the lifestyles of today’s readers. Children are the intended audience, however I feel that adults might be appreciative of this book as well. The Adventures of Anne Shirley: Book One in the SeriesĪs a child, this was one of my all-time favorite books and I highly recommend it! It is a delightful fictional story.
